What is this game?

Who Played for Both? is a free browser trivia game. The core question is simple: can you name the players who wore both shirts? Fenerbahçe × Arsenal, Brazil × Real Madrid… Any player who signed for both clubs counts — loans and single-appearance spells included.

Which game modes are there?

Kickoff: back-to-back random matchups; Club×Club or Country×Club — optionally Race against the clock. Daily Run: the same 3, 5 or 10 matchups for everyone — share your result, keep your streak (🔥). Custom: pick two clubs yourself and share the link; everyone who opens it plays the same matchup. Career Path: guess the player from career stops revealed one by one. 3×3 Grid: fill all nine intersections of a 3×3 board.

How does scoring work?

Correct guess +10, wrong −2 (floor 0). Spelling suggestions cost nothing. In Kickoff, “Show players” opens the same answer list as 3×3 Grid. In Career Path earlier guesses score higher; the Grid gives you nine attempts in total. Full rules live in the in-game “?” window.

Where does the data come from?

Player and club data is compiled from open sources — primarily Wikidata — cleaned through our own validation layers and refreshed regularly. It covers 143k+ footballers and 840k+ career records.
